Summer Camp Policies
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
We are so excited to have your child join us for Summer Camp! Our top priorities are safety, horse welfare, and creating a positive experience for every camper. Please carefully review the following policies before registering.
Enrollment in camp indicates agreement with all policies below.
🐴 Age & Weight Requirement
Campers must be 7 years old at the time of camp.
There are no exceptions to this policy.
This rule ensures campers are developmentally ready to safely participate in riding instruction and follow directions independently.
For the safety and well-being of our horses and riders, all campers must weigh under 160 pounds at the time of camp.
If a camper does not meet this requirement, they will not be permitted to ride and no refund will be issued.
📅 Registration, Cancellations & Schedule Policies
-
No cancellations are allowed.
-
Once you sign up, your camper’s spot is secured for that specific week.
-
No refunds will be issued for any reason.
-
We do not allow trading, switching, or transferring camp weeks.
-
Camp spots are non-transferable to other students.
We plan staffing, horses, and scheduling based on enrollment numbers, so we appreciate your understanding.
🩺 Medical & Safety Disclosure
Parents or legal guardians must fully disclose any medical, physical, developmental, behavioral, or psychological conditions that could impact a camper’s ability to:
-
Ride safely
-
Follow directions
-
Safely participate in activities
-
Interact appropriately with horses and other campers
Failure to disclose relevant information may result in immediate dismissal from camp without refund.
If a disclosed or undisclosed condition is determined to create a safety concern, Painted Star Equestrian reserves the right to deny or discontinue participation.
🌟 Camper Behavior Expectations
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for unsafe or inappropriate behavior.
The following behaviors are not permitted:
-
Biting
-
Hitting, kicking, or physical aggression
-
Bullying or intentionally being mean
-
Inappropriate language or behavior
-
Refusal to follow instructor directions
-
Any conduct that creates an unsafe environment for horses, staff, or other campers
If a camper displays unsafe or inappropriate behavior, they will be immediately dismissed from camp with no refund.
Our goal is to create a positive, confidence-building environment for every child — and to protect the safety of our horses.
⚠️ Inherent Risk of Horseback Riding
Horseback riding is an equine activity that involves inherent risks. By enrolling, parents acknowledge and accept the risks associated with participation.
A separate liability waiver must be signed prior to participation.
