New Client Welcome & Riding Information
We’re excited to welcome you to the ranch! To ensure a safe, smooth, and enjoyable riding experience, please review the information below before your lesson.
What to Wear
For safety and comfort, proper attire is required:
-
Long pants are mandatory (jeans are preferred).
-
Boots with a heel are required.
-
We recommend cowboy boots (available at places like Boot Barn).
-
Winter boots are acceptable for your first lesson only.
-
-
Please wear your hair down or in a low ponytail.
-
High ponytails or buns must be removed so helmets can fit properly and safely.
-
Helmets
-
Helmets are available to borrow for your first lesson.
-
After your first class, students are required to purchase their own riding helmet for continued lessons.
Arrival Time
-
Please plan to arrive a few minutes early so you have time to park, meet your instructor, and get ready to ride.
Parking Information
We have two parking lots available:
-
The parking lot closest to the covered arena has a gate and open parking.
-
This lot has a painted Star Equestrian sign, and the gate is unlocked.
-
You’re welcome to park there for the easiest access to the arena.
Day-Of Lesson Communication
-
We will text you the day of your lesson, usually in the early afternoon.
-
Your message will include where to meet your instructor and any last-minute details.
Barn Rules & Ranch Etiquette
To keep everyone safe and our horses happy, please follow these ranch rules:
-
Our horses love carrots and apples, and you’re welcome to bring them as treats 🥕
-
Please only feed treats to your assigned lesson horse and only with instructor permission.
-
-
Do not feed or pet other horses around the ranch. Some horses may be on special diets or in training.
-
No running, yelling, or screaming anywhere on the ranch, as loud noises can scare horses.
-
Always walk calmly and stay aware of your surroundings.
-
Siblings and non-riding children are welcome to enjoy our playground area during lessons with supervision.
-
For safety, children must stay out of the arena and barn aisles.
-
-
Please follow all instructor directions at all times.
Cancellation Policy
-
We have a 24-hour cancellation policy.
-
Please understand that your lesson time is important to us. We reserve the arena, horse, and instructor specifically for you to ensure you have a great experience.
Rider Requirements
-
Riders must weigh under 160 lbs.
-
Please disclose any medical, physical, or health conditions that may affect your ability to safely ride a horse. This allows us to prepare the best horse and lesson for you.
